My Idea

What is an idea? Answer: something very difficult to explain! I think that an idea is someone’s reaction to something else that they’ve seen or heard. Someone is exposed to something new or old and after taking in the new information and sometimes they have an “idea”, of how they would change or add to it. I think ideas are a lot like opinions. Sometimes ideas seem like they’re the best thing, or the only way. Other times ideas are just thrown “by the wayside” and never thought of again (example, “well that was a stupid idea”). While I’m aware that ideas can be stolen or borrowed, I think that there is really no true way that any two ideas can be exactly the same. An idea comes from your creative mind, once it is documented or put into action it becomes history, as someone else’s idea – something that’s already been done.

Thoughts are kind of like ideas. They’re unique and individualized. Once again, their personal! A thought is someone’s response to something they’ve seen or heard. It’s their response to someone else’s idea. While ideas can be good or bad, thoughts can be many more things. You can have a thought about something, someone, somewhere, a good thought or a bad thought. I think of thoughts like a footnote at the bottom of a page. They’re not something that’s always voiced right out in the open by people, but they’re sometimes the most interesting part of a reading. Subconsciously we are constantly “thinking new thoughts”.

Thoughts and ideas are such vast concepts; it is difficult to explain what they are. It’s just something that we do. All the time we have new thoughts and new ideas. In the end, I think that our thoughts and ideas shape each of our individual personalities. There is a big difference between someone who is a creative thinker and has lots of ideas and someone who is a negative thinker and has destructive thoughts and ideas. In the end, I was just asked to write about my ideas and thoughts in this post. Interesting.
