Whether it be in the supermarket or on a music video on MTV, people have the right to say, dress and act however they’d like. People also have the freedom to treat people however they see fit. Human sexuality is being expressed through pop culture now, in present time, than ever before. Miniskirts, music videos and scandalous magazine covers are all examples of how men and women are exploiting their sexuality for the entertainment of others.
So who is responsible for this sexual explosion? While yes, it is the choice and free will of the individual being portrayed through the media to look, act or say whatever they’d like; however there are other professionals involved. The directors, photographers and producers are capable of showing respect for the professional’s personal privacy and sexuality. They do not need to constantly encourage short shirts, unbuttoned tops and other sexual acts/gestures that “push the envelope”. Instead, they could chose to show some respect.
