I definitely agree that Slim’s character in Enough is a great representation of a powerful woman. You did a great job explaining the plot of the movie thoroughly. While your description portion was very detailed, it may have been a little bit too lengthy. I got a little lost toward the middle of your posting. I thought that you did a great job of wrapping up your ideas and including a citation in your conclusion.
I really enjoyed reading your posting “Technology In the Family”. I felt that this was a really strong piece of yours. You had a great introduction citing D’Emilio’s perspectives and followed up with a strong body paragraph stating you own observations. I had not even considered many of the points that you mentioned in your posting and I thought that you did a really good of providing specific examples to support how technology has changed the Gay and Lesbian community.

I was particularly moved by the conclusion to your “Girl Power” posting. You did a great job of describing a message that is implied, rather than directly stated in the movie. I think that two people, regardless of their gender, that can work together to overcome differences demonstrate great strength and character. Plus, it’s always fun to watch a duo of unstoppable girls!
I was interested that you discussed the role of children in your “Evolution of Family” posting. I think that too often the focus of the family is placed on the parents providing for the children and the children’s roles are rarely discussed. It would be very interesting to find out more about the trends of children living at home vs. moving out and their contributions (or lack of) to their family.
